Effective date: 16 August 2026. This policy explains how Raksha Kavach (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website, admin tools, and mobile applications for patients and healthcare professionals.
1. Who we are
Raksha Kavach is a home healthcare platform that connects patients and families with verified nurses, therapists, physicians, laboratory technicians, and other professionals. Our services are operated from India via therakshakavach.com.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Account & identity
- Name, mobile number, email (if provided), and password or OTP-based sign-in.
- Role type: patient or staff (nurse, therapist, physician, lab technician, etc.).
- Phone / email verification timestamps and account block status where applicable.
2.2 Patient profile & bookings
- Demographic and address details (e.g. date of birth, gender, blood group, address, city, pincode, optional location coordinates).
- Health-related information you choose to share: symptoms, notes, chronic conditions, allergies, medications, emergency contact.
- Service requests: service category, preferred time, priority, assigned staff, status history, and visit records.
- Reviews and ratings you submit after a visit.
2.3 Staff profile & verification
- Professional details: category, specialization, service areas, availability, government registration number.
- Verification documents you upload (e.g. Aadhaar, 10th / 12th marksheets, B.Sc Nursing / ANM / GNM certificates) and profile photos.
- Package subscription and payment-related metadata needed to activate staff plans (processed via payment partners where configured).
2.4 Device, app & notifications
- Installation / device identifiers, app version, platform (Android / iOS), OS version, locale, timezone.
- Push notification tokens (FCM / APNs) so we can send booking and status alerts.
- Approximate IP address and last-seen time for security and support.
2.5 Website
- Standard server logs (IP, browser, pages visited) for security and reliability.
- Information you send via published contact channels (email, WhatsApp).
3. How we use information
- Create and secure accounts; send OTP for registration and login.
- Match patients with eligible professionals and manage service request lifecycle (create, accept, reject, cancel, complete).
- Verify staff identity and qualifications before approval.
- Send transactional push notifications (e.g. new booking, status change) and optional admin campaigns.
- Provide emergency SOS dialling using the number configured for the app (where enabled).
- Improve reliability, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
We process data to provide the service you request (contract), to operate and secure the platform (legitimate interests), with your consent where required (e.g. optional device permissions), and to meet legal or regulatory duties.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only as needed to run the service:
- Between patients and assigned / eligible staff — booking details required to deliver care.
- Administrators — for verification, support, moderation, and operations.
- Service providers — e.g. SMS / OTP gateways, Firebase Cloud Messaging, hosting, and payment gateways, under appropriate safeguards.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
6. Sensitive personal data
Health-related and identity documents (including Aadhaar and clinical notes you enter) are treated as sensitive. They are used only for care delivery, staff verification, and platform operations. Please share only what is necessary for the service you request.
7. Data retention
We retain account, booking, and verification records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legitimate business, dispute resolution, and legal retention requirements. You may request deletion of your account; some records may be retained where the law requires or where anonymised analytics remain.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access-controlled admin panels, API client tokens, and authenticated user sessions. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please keep your device and OTP confidential.
9. Your choices & rights
- Access or update profile information in the app where available.
- Revoke notification permission in your device settings (you may miss booking alerts).
- Request correction or deletion by contacting us via our Contact page.
- Staff may remove or replace uploaded verification documents subject to re-verification.
10. Children
Raksha Kavach is intended for adults arranging care for themselves or dependants. If you believe we have collected data about a child inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
11. International users
Our primary audience is in India. If you access the service from another country, your information may be processed in India where our servers and operators are located.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app or website after updates means you accept the revised policy.
